meet our staff:

Xiao Bai is our product designer, and is our resident expert when it comes to anything hand knit or handmade!  She made our original ‘too wonderful’ blanket and anything she touches with her knitting needles turns to gold.  She has made many hand knit items for our family and others in the community - blankets, sweaters, scarves, hats, and even pants!  Her knitting expertise is the backbone behind Closeknit, and she teaches our employees how to make quality hand knit blankets and other items.  Other women often seek out her knitting expertise, and she even taught Sarah how to knit!

Xiao Bai began knitting when she was 15 years old.  The first hand knit item she made was a scarf - a very long white scarf which was the fashion trend of the day.  The second thing she made was a sweater for her mother.  She continues to enjoy knitting and continuing this very practical art form

Xiao Yang is our personnel director and product manager. She works with Xiao Bai in managing our employees, and doing quality control for all our hand knit items.  She helps to do market research for the China side of our business, and to locate quality yarns for our hand knit items.  She too is an expert knitter, and works together with Xiao Bai to help develop and customize our hand knit products.

Xiao Yang began knitting when she was 17 years old.  The first hand knit item she made was a pair of gloves - no starting with a simple knitting project for this lady!    She comes from a long family line of knitters, and she is happy to carry on the knitting tradition - and pass it on to her daughter as well.

sarahSarah is the Owner and director of Closeknit.  She is very aided in her job by her web-designer husband, Jeff, who designed and manages Closeknit's website.  Sarah has always had an appreciation for quality and beautiful handmade items, and she is really happy to have found a way to share what she loves through Closeknit.

Sarah learned how to knit when she was...older.   Both of her great-grandmothers were expert knitters, but because Sarah is left handed she never learned how to knit from them.  Sarah finally learned how to knit under the instruction of Xiao Bai and Xiao Yang, and her first hand knit item was a scarf for her husband.  She wasn’t as brave as either of the above mentioned ladies for her second project, so she attempted another scarf for her second hand knit item.  She hopes to one day be as good of a knitter as all of her employees!
