Closeknit is a family run business located in Langfang, China. That's right, we live in a city in China that many people in the U.S. have never even heard of. We came to Langfang in 2003 to work with some of China's special needs orphans.

After living in China for a while we noticed how many of our Chinese friends are expert knitters.  They would knit sweaters and other items for our children and all were quite lovely and beautifully made.  Then one day they made a blanket for a friend of ours that was just too wonderful, and upon seeing the finished product we exclained, "That's it!  We have to find a way to share these with the world!"  So that is what we did, and Closeknit was born.

We currently contract with 50+ knitters to make our blankets.  Each blanket is quality inspected by us for any flaws, and our yarns are all hand selected.  Our friend that made the original "too wonderful" blanket is now our product designer, and she instructs all the other knitters  how to make "too wonderful" blankets for you!
